If there is one kind of fish which just about everyone knows and likes, it is salmon. This large, firm-fleshed and very flavorful fish is incredibly popular and is enjoyed in preparations ranging from smoked or cured (like lox and its Scandinavian cousin gravlax) to croquettes to steaks and everything in between.
